Big Ben, the famous clock tower in London that was created in 1859 was telling the wrong time as it underwent repairs, much to the dismay of the people.

In a very ironic twist, the largest clock in the world is running about 20 minutes late. Initially, when BBC was reporting, people thought that the live report coming in was faked. Though, BBC anchor Simon McCoy confirmed in a tweet on February 5 that "the World's most famous clock.. home to Big Ben - is showing the wrong time and running around 20 minutes late."

As reported by the Evening Standard, a spokesperson for the House of Commons announced, "We are aware that the South Dial of the Elizabeth Tower was temporarily displaying the incorrect time this afternoon. Parliament's clock mechanics have now resolved the issue."

Regardless of the spokesperson trying to soothe the public, many Twitter users took to the social media site to voice their concerns over the landmark clock.

Some Twitter users wanted to ensure that London's other landmarks were safe from changes as well, which is a good question quite frankly

Others took the time to comment on how the railway always makes its way back to messing with the time.

Other users supported Big Ben's changes and reminded everyone that if Big Ben says something, that's what it is.

Big Ben was silenced back in August 2017 in order to make room for repairs. The clock will be silenced for another approximate three years. The Toronto Star reported that "Labour Party lawmaker Stephen Pound said the silencing of Big Ben was 'a dispiriting moment.' He added that "You don't know what you've got till it's gone."
