Crazy Fact of the Day
When the average person is asked to name some of the great naval superpowers in recorded history, they'll probably think of the Greek Navy, the Royal Navy, or even the United States Navy. But what if someone included Pepsi Co. on that list? They'd probably be laughed out of the room, right? Well, take a seat because they wouldn't be entirely wrong.
In the late 1980s, Pepsi agreed to sell the Soviet Union the right to its products behind the Iron Curtain, but there was one problem that nearly put an end to the deal. Until Pepsi sold the military equipment to a Swedish company for scrap a few days later, the beverage company was the sixth largest military in the world.
