The town of Gilbert, Minnesota is under the influence of some crazy birds. The birds in the town have been accused of "flying into windows, cars and acting confused." They've been"drifting around town looking disoriented." It's not some nightmare, dystopian realization of the 1963 Hitchcock classic The Birds, it's actually more like the movie Beerfest as it turns out, the birds are hammered. Wasted. Drunk.

The birds haven't been binging on beer or swallowing too much scotch though. They've been downing too many berries. The berries, you see, dry out when it gets cold out and the sugar ferments. Usually, this happens after the birds have flown south for the winter. but this year, the berries have fermented early and the birds are loving it. Or hating it. It's hard to tell. What's not hard to tell is how drunk they are.

It turns out, this isn't a unique phenomenon, but it is pretty hilarious and the Gilbert Police Department deserve full points for the creative press release, including asking residents to report any "Angry Birds laughing and giggling uncontrollably and appearing to be happy."
