A Missouri couple was arrested in early December 2018 and charged for their participation in the production of methamphetamine, but one of the two would-be "Walter Whites" is telling police that even though it looks like they were cooking meth in the attic of their home, they weren't actually cooking meth in their attic.

According to Lincoln County Sheriff's deputies, Jennifer Ziga said, "I know it looks like a meth lab, but it's really not."

But if they weren't cooking meth, why did the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department reportedly find methamphetamine, chemicals and lab equipment commonly used in the production of the controlled substance, books on how to properly cook meth, pipes used to smoke the drug, and a stolen gun?

Ziga, and her co-defendant Christopher Garrett, can't seem to come up with a good reason as to why they would be in possession of all those pieces of equipment and the stolen gun.

What the two Missouri residents lack in terms of alibies and answers as to what they were actually doing with all of that equipment they sure do make up for it with the felonies that they are now facing in Lincoln County Circuit Court.

According to the charging documents, Garrett is charged with two counts of felony manufacture of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and three counts of unlawful use of a firearm. He is currently housed at the Lincoln County Jail where his bail has been set at $50,000. Ziga is charged with felony manufacture of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance and was being held in the Lincoln County Jail, where her bail has been set at $15,000.

Both cases are still pending in the Lincoln County court system. Who knows, maybe the judge will believe Ziga's claims and the whole situation can be considered just one big misunderstanding. But although the lab equipment could turn out to be a science project, they'll have a harder time arguing against the stolen guns and meth found within the house.
