A Nebraska woman has made the news recently after she and her half-sister took part in a "jealous competition" to see who could have sex with their father first.
And it looks like Samantha Kershner "won" the race to sleep with her good ole dad, Travis Fieldgrove. In addition to going to bed with the man who's responsible for her being born, Kershner actually tied the knot with Fieldgrove, even after the couple discovered that they were being investigated by local police.
According to Daily Mail, the happy, morally bankrupt couple were able to get married thanks to a mess up that was 21 years in the making.
Kershner grew up not knowing her father, and at the age of 17, she told her mother she wanted to know the identity of this mystery man. She finally met Fieldgrove shortly after talking to her mom and the two “maintained a father-daughter relationship” for the three years before it turned sexual last September.
And that’s where things get messy.
Once Kershner’s mother found out that her daughter was sleeping with her biological father, she quickly contacted the police who began an investigation to see how this all unfolded.
Through interviews with Kershner, police learned that she and her sister had took part in a "jealous competition." The Omaha World-Herald reported that Kershner's "motivation to have sex with her father stemmed from a jealous competition with her half sister regarding who could have sex with their father."
The identity of the half sister, however, was never released by authorities.
But the cause of the incest wasn't the only thing authorities learned during the course of the investigation.
Police also learned that Kershner and Fieldgrove got married at the Adams County Courthouse in October.
But how could a father and daughter legally marry?
Well, to answer that, you have to go back 21 years when Kershner was born. For some reason, Fieldgrove is not listed as Kershner’s father on the birth certificate, which is why no flags were brought up when they applied for a marriage license last year.
Fieldgrove even went as far to say that he didn’t believe he was the girl’s father because of this, but a paternity test conducted in January came back with a 99.999 percent probability that he was, in fact, her father.
With that being enough for police, Kershner and Fieldgrove were arrested and charged with one count of incest each.
If convicted, this father and daughter duo could spend the next eight years of their marriage behind bars.
